Joining in on Blogger Pros with #SweatPink!

Fit Approach has been curating a blogging initiative called Blogger Pros to inspire SweatPink ambassadors to gather round specific topics and blog about their perspectives. It’s been very cool to read everyone’s posts and learn from their stories.

The latest prompt is all about goals and motivation, so I thought I’d share too in hopes that by writing about it, I’ll become more motivated. 😉

My current goals simply include making small but steady changes in my lifestyle to incorporate more healthy eating (i.e. more whole fruits, veggies & grains), drink more water [hydration is key, hydration is key, hydration…is what I keep telling myself ;)], and do a little bit of exercise each day to build up my endurance.

Motivation is often a hard thing to maintain. Sometimes it hits hard and I want to do it all right then. But then it slips away…

So since I like to write things down, I jot down my goals and the steps I must take to achieve them just about everywhere. It’s in my calendar, on my to-do list, on sticky notes on my desk. These constant reminders have proven to be pretty helpful in the long-run.

And when I do hit a mental wall – which has happened before, but don’t worry, if you’re in one right now, know that it likely won’t last very long – I take a break. It’s the same when I have writer’s block. Stepping away from the computer or yoga mat and doing something completely different, like cooking, cleaning or even watching a bit of t.v. really allows my mind to focus on something else and clear away the uncertainties and doubt. I come back feeling refreshed and with a bit more umph to try and finish the task at hand.

A few Hopes, Dreams & Wishes for the Fall Season

Writing down my fitness goals has been on my to-do list for a while now, so when I read today’s prompt for #1MillionMinutes with SweatPink & prAna, I knew I had to join in and share!

This fall, I’m hoping to achieve the following:

– Join and commit to a new yoga class (I’m moving soon so I need to find one that’s near my new residence).

– Try out at least one new healthy recipe each week. (I love cooking so this shouldn’t be too hard, just need to remember to pick up extra ingredients at the grocery store!)

– Work on my balance and flexibility. (I’m not very balanced or flexible, or coordinated for that matter. Really need to work on those hah.)

– Do some traveling and adventuring that’s fitness-oriented/friendly. (Looking to do some hiking/exploring trails and lots of walking!)

These aren’t necessarily super high goals, but they’re goals that I definitely want to achieve. And now that they’re down in writing, they seem a bit more concrete and tangible.

Today I’m excited to announce that I’m participating in the #LJInspired who, what, when, where why inspiration Instagram Challenge, which kicks off today and will go for 4 weeks strong!

With this challenge, I am vowing to continue to live thoughtfully [adj] and make make progress [verb] towards my dream of working in publishing  [your dream].  Yes, my biggest dream is to help connect people, ideas, and different cultures through literature [your dream] and I’ll get there by staying committed [verb] and working diligently [verb] and of course leaning on others who inspire me like my SweatPink community [person] and family [person].

I believe that the key to a happy life is family and friends [noun]. Family and friends [same noun] inspire me to be the dedicated [adj] person that I am today. I am lucky to have my parents, cousins and college friends in my life because they inspire me to live life to my fullest and to chase my dreams.

My dream is to one day build a career in publishing [verb] and even if it takes many years, a lot of hard work and long hours [noun], I know I’ll get there because I’m not afraid to dream big!
